Gemotions

The phone felt like a hot coal in her hand. She stared at it, willing it to remain silent. The silence, however, was worse. It stretched, a taut, invisible wire threatening to snap at any moment.

She walked to the window, the city sprawling below. She saw people moving, living their lives, oblivious to the storm brewing inside her. The thought was maddening.

She felt like screaming, laughing, and crying all at once. She was trapped in a cage of her own making, pacing restlessly within its confines.
